Ione and Brandon, how are your lotus doing that we dug from the trial garden bog?

One of them started blooming here on Thursday.

Gorgeous! Wish I had to sun to grow them. I love the leaves and the flowers.

    WOW!!!!!! What a beautiful picture!

My white one already bloomed. It was very pretty and the plant is growing very well. The other one, like the one in your picture, is doing good, but is smaller and has not bloomed yet. It may take it until next year. I'm glad you posted the picture because it will give me something else to look forward to.

Brandon, mine are the opposite, the pink is growing very well and the white one is still small and hasn't bloomed yet. It is probably in a smaller than desired container, but was what I had at the time. Maybe next year!

    Wonderful!

Mine are growing well for the most part. I have healthy plants going in six different tubs, I think. One of them has two buds, but none have bloomed yet. I'm glad yours are doing well!

WOW!! That is absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm green with envy. :) If you ever go again, I would love to participate. Thank you for sharing your pic Rebecca.
I only have a 30 gallon water garden at present, so can only have little water plants, but I can dream. :) Marianne brought me some Parrot Feather to the E.T. swap and it's looking good. The tree frogs love the water.

I attended the Bloomsdays festival in June, at U.T. gardens and had a blast. I had never visited them. If anyone hasn't been, I would really encourage you to go. They are open every day from dawn to dusk and have their own parking lot for visitors. It is free to the public!

    Happy gardening, Carol :)

Hi Carol, I was at Bloomsday too, as a vendor. I sold daylilies for the East TN Daylily Society.

One water garden turns into another...and another...:) I have a 60 gallon pond and various containers from half barrel to 1 gallon pot size.

    Hey Carol --

A 30 gallon tub is plenty big enough for a lotus. All of mine are in tubs that size or smaller, and most of the ones at UT are too!

The one of mine that has buds is going to open today or tomorrow. I'll try to get pics!

    Hi Rebecca,

How neat. I probably bought my daylilies from you. :) I enjoyed the talk by Laura and I also joined the society, while I was there Sunday. I'm looking forward to my first meeting and getting to meet you. Your kids are beautiful. I have a red head, but she's 21. Your daughter's hair is the same color. :)

The water garden- I know. it's hard to stop..LOL

    Hi amazindirt,

Thanks for the info..I'll have to try and find at least one for mine. I'm new to water gardening so I'm interested in any advice. I look forward to seeing your pics!

    Happy gardening, Carol

Carol, you probably did talk to me if you joined the club. I am the treasurer and I would have taken your info and the fees.

Our next meeting will be the second Saturday in September. I will be sending out full info as the date approaches. Hope to see you there!

    Rebecca
