I've sucessfully braided the branches of my small ficus. Pick off any leaves that may be in the way of the braid and hold the branches in place with a loose twisty tie. Be sure to check it occasionally to be sure the tie isn't too tight or it will dig into the trunk and could possibly kill the plant.

You need to have four stems to do the round braid.

Just keep picking the leaves off and braiding them till you have the lenght you want.

Eventually they will grow into each other but you can still see that they were braided (plaited).

How do I care for my topiary house plant? The leaves are falling off from the top, middle, and bottom tier. I recently repotted the plant but its not thriving. The plant is currently in front of a window so I think it's getting enough lighting. I have and air-conditioning vent about perpendicular from the plant. My husband thinks the draft from the airconditioning is the problem. Can you please help. I don't want to loose the plant.

that they take 3 ficuses and braid them
around a pipe,when the trunks fuse,
the pipe is removed.
I'm gonna try it!!
