Well if you are really into plants and gardens I think you can make a whole day of it - I usually do. And if you need a break from the crowds, buy yourself a 'Pimms and Lemonade' and relax at the Bandstand listening to open air music and enjoying the people-watching. Don't forget to take a pen and notepad to write down all those 'must have' plants and a camera for those design ideas. Also take some loose change to buy those packets of seed and plant catalogues. Its bound to be very busy but highly enjoyable!!
While you are in the area why not take a break to visit Sissinghurst and Great Dixter - about an hour or so from London and worth an overnight stay - as these are legendary english gardens - which I will be visiting this summer too !

My experience, 10 years ago, may not be relevant today. We had tickets for a Thursday, more specifically Thursday afternoon, I believe 2 PM. The Flower Show was definitely over booked. As we waited in a brick alleyway til the gate opened, it became quite crowded. Inside movement was elbow-to-elbow throughout. Please take the time to see the landscape projects. They are just like the video presentations, but more so.

I am glad to have attended the event, but next time I will join the RHS so as to attend on an earlier day. A beautiful area of London is Chelsea. What is so special are the people of England. Very courteous and friendly!

This posting really brings back so many truly wonderful memories. The buses, the tube, the taxis (I would love to have one), museums, galleries, train rides out of town, boating to Kew, musicals, etc... I think I will look into a trip there soon, I can't think of a better place to go!
