I have been told by a very good flower person that they are supposed to, but will not make it through the winter outside here in west Tennessee. She said that she digs hers up and puts it in a pot to overwinter inside. If anyone else knows any different, they are free to straighten me out.

It's a tender perennial. Sun for best flowers, will tolerate part shade. Reasonable moisture, doesn't have to be toooooo wet. Take it inside before frost. Et voila! :-)

I have a mandaville that I brought into the house before winter. All of the leaves have fallen off and it looks terrible. I have watered it some because it seemed so dry. It was a beautiful plant, will it come back out when I move it outside? What can I do to help it? I bought this plant in Jacksonville, FL but I live in Dalton, GA. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, we can't tell you that! It may still be alive, or it may not be. We wouldn't be able to tell without looking at it in person!

It doesn't sound promising, but if you want to maximize its chances, take it outdoors ASAP on warmer days.

Is there any new growth? Are the stem brittle? Not just at the tips, as that's not a biggie. If the vine near the ground is still firm and slightly springy, you may be allright.

My mom brings hers in and puts it in front of a window every winter. I doubt she waters it more than once or twice a month. She's had the same one for several years now.

I have a relative (allamanda) in a pot right now that's lost a lot of leaves, but I fully expect it to be just fine come warm weather.
