Well, nothing unusual comes to mind. I got mine probably around 4 or 5 years ago. It's done well with no pest or disease problems. I think it's about 6' tall right now.

One thing that I've wondered about is how well it would stand up to a heavy snowfall, but since heavy snowfalls around here seem to be mostly a thing of the past, I don't have any experience with them relative to this shrub.

what kind of sun exposure does yours get?

Mine's in almost full sun. It does get some shade from the late evening sun by a small fence to the northwest of it. They do well in full sun, part shade, or even shade.
