The San Antonio riverwalk that is the major tourist destination for SA visitors is gorgeous and planted with beautiful flowers, tropicals, etc. All along it are restaurants and clubs plus shopping and hotels. You will like it, but it is already in the 90's here so bring sunscreen. The SA botanical gardens are also very lovely and are located near Fort Sam Houston on Funston street.

I've never been to San Antonio, but from what I've read, a wide variety of plants can be grown. The area is at an ecological crossroads where temperate grasslands and forests interweave with subtropical steppes. The Botanical Gardens are home to representatives of nearly every Texas ecosystem.
