This January my husband and I will be travelling from Indiana to Arizona through Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and will go to California. We would like to hear about arboretums, botanical gardens to stop and see along the way. Also I am interested in lapidary sites. The state travel organizations are sadly lacking in this type of information. Any recommendations are most welcome. Thanks.

Here's a great site that might help you out. They list over 2300 sites to see and it's searchable.
