Mandevilla with white flies

Hello,

I took my mandevilla inside for the winter. It doesn't have to look great, just survive til spring!!! However, it got white flies somehow. I have washed it carefully with soapy water, and I think I killed them all, but I'm getting ready to start vegetables from seed so I really need to know the flies are GONE so they don't infest my baby veggies.

I'm wondering...if I cut it down to the ground, will I kill it? (I won't do it if it can't handle treatment like that!) It's currently in pretty decent condition, not sickly, but this plant is fairly new to me and I don't know what it can handle.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

hi Ann

i cut mine down a couple weeks ago...
the leaves were getting brown,so i knew it was time..
the new sprouts are about 2 feet long already..they
do regrow quick...you should have no problems...
but if it were me...i'd spray after towards the soil just to be sure...

I have two Mandevillas in pots, and both of them are loaded with aphids and white flies. I have sprayed them with orchard spray, which has taken care of all insects and diseases on all my other plants really well, but these still seem to have the bugs. The leaves are yellowing and falling off. The yellow is not smooth yellow, but splotched with green. Should I be soaking the soil they're in? I intend to bring them inside for the winter, and if they start out with bugs, I'll have trouble getting rid of
them over the winter. Any suggestions???

Sorry for the short reply! My initial post was deleted somehow? Here's what you need. Neem oil concentrate, if lowes is to far order online. You need to do at least 3 cycles minimum to kill the aphids, white flies, spider mites.

Soak all your plants down before bringing in and you'll be good.

This is the super dumbed down version of what I wrote the first time but it will work.
