Tropical and tender plant cuttings

It looks like we are expecting some very cool nights early next week. This would be a great time to take some cuttings of plants in your yard that may be killed next week anyway.

So, if you have Persian shield, double imatiens, coleus, Princess Flower, or other beautiful tropicals, please put a bunch of cuttings in a Ziploc bag to share.

Some people may be able to grow them over the winter and share cuttings at the spring swap.

Considering our topic is propagation, this would be very useful.

Evelyn--Thanks, I have several sun coleus that Bob has already informed me to take cuttings for him, so I will bring some. Also a solid green that a neighbor gave me.

What about the types of salvia, will that work for them if anyone wants some cuttings?

Good thought, Wanda. I have rooted Pineapple Sage to overwinter over the summer. Mexican Bush sage cuttings would be great too.

I have creeping jenny do not know if it's hardy or not.It's in a large pot up off the ground so it may freeze.Will bring some to the swap.
