I agree, name tags are a wonderful idea!

Yes, names and screen names would be great! Last spring I used 2" tape which I will have with me.

Well, at one time we had everyone sign in and get a name tag as they arrived. But since we have been at HHSP, there isn't a place to funnel people through like there was at Buffalo Canoes. Plus someone has to man a registration table.

Rhonda, sounds like you have some volunteers here. What better way for them to get to know everyone, right? *grin*

Funny, our first plant swap was the last one at Buffalo Canoes, and yes we signed in. But how many did not, and it was an unusual swap to say the least :). I guess as my first time, and all of you that have done this for years, I did not pay attention of what "WAS SUPPOSE TO BE". And look, you still have "Us, Bob and I", sorry, LOL. Guess two out of a thousand is "OK"? My thought, if you want you name and screen name given out, "DO IT", which I will. This is a swap, I love the faces to the names. If I want to ask a "?" about a plant I received just feels good to know the person. Gardners know that plants to "die". They can give their info, and it does help.

I don't know if I will get around to it but it would be fun for those of us who plan on going to swaps forever to decorate a t-shirt with our real name and our screen name. No, I'm not that creative. Mine would be more functional than decorative.

Thanks Steve! :) Do you want to? I don't think we'd be able to print them all beforehand, because I don't think everyone who comes is a member of gardenweb. I could bring some blank ones and markers for those who are not members of the forum.

Steve, I bet you work for lightning Source. they printed a couple of books for me and I'm working on another. I hope to meet you at the swap -would be fun to see an actual person who works there.

I don't really have a plan, Steve. LOL ;) I was just thinking of bringing a few blank ones and a marker and leaving them somewhere central. If you'd like to print something there, that would be cool! Just whatever you want to do. I'll still plan on bringing blanks.

connie: Do you have a list of registered attendees with their real name & GW name? If so, I can print them out here on some type of sticky label everyone could slap on their shirt or whatever. =)

I don't have a list, Steve, or access to that information other than through the "Haves and Wants" thread. You could compile at least a partial list from that.

Who is it that admins the web site, again? I bet they'd be the one to ask to get a list. Do you remember?

Why don't you just bring the stickers and hand them out as people come in? Some folks that registered will not make it and some folks will show up that are unexpected.

OK, I have 90 stickers (3x4). That's all I could round up. Can someone bring a think black Sharpie?

Thank you Connie and Steve! The stickers were a great help! I have been attending swaps for years and still don't remember names with faces. The Spring swap will be larger. Oh, you're welcome Rhonda! It was no big deal at all! It helped me a lot to see name tags with faces. I learned a few more people yesterday! Still a lot to learn, though. I'd be happy to bring some stickers in the spring too. :)
