Well, I'm not Marty, but I will answer your unanswered question.

There's really no trick at all to getting honeysuckle to germinate. Germination from seed is easy. Just plant the cleaned seeds from the berries about this time of year and leave outside to cold stratify. The seeds require about three monthes of cold. Protect from varmits as required. You may be able to use some of the techniques found in the winter sowing forum to improve results even more.

One big thing to consider though is that seeds from cultivars do not produce the cultivar. If you want the same type of plant you have now, you will have to use cuttings. Growing honeysuckle from cuttings is also fairly easy.

Lastly, it's hard to say why one plant doesn't have berries, but chances are that next year after it grows up a bit, it will.

Apologies for having been MIA and not responding sooner. My mom had a major stroke a few months ago and my life has become pretty complicated. I don't get on the 'puter much these days.

Brandon gave you great advice. If you don't want to sow outside, you can stratify the cleaned seed in a ziplock bag in your refrigerator for 75 days or so, and then sow it. This is how I do it at the nursery. Just put the seed in slightly moistened vermiculite or sphagnum moss, seal the bag and put it in the fridge. I write the date to take it out with a Sharpie on the bag, so I don't forget. :)

Do be sure to get all the red "berry" off the inner sead, which will be kind of creamy white. There are chemical germination inhibitors in the berry flesh.
