Sounds like a great deal on your tulip bulbs. I love the flowers, but treat them as annuals so I can yank the ugly foliage once the blooms are gone. I have several dozen bulbs in the fridge that I'll try to get into pots tomorrow. I also like to use glads in the same way. Today I painted the trunks of about 30 fruit trees in preparation for the wire cages that are about to be placed. Yesterday, did a detailed garden plan for 2010 so as to be able to order seeds intelligently. That was fun. Am building hills for watermelons, and otherwise getting beds ready for spring. Ugh, I still have to get my tulips in. I missed my window with the really pretty weekend whenever that was, and now I guess I'm going to be stuck doing it in the freezing cold and rain. :) I didn't buy too many this year, just 30 or so for a small area near the front porch. You got a great deal on yours!

Other than that, I'm trying wintersowing for the first time this year. I've been hanging out on the seed exchange, swapping seeds. Never thought I'd try seeds! But I keep hearing how wonderful it is and once you try it you'll be hooked, so why not? I am hoping to get at least one plant of everything I sow...and who knows, if I have more success than that I may be showing up at the spring swap with a lot of cool stuff!

My rose cuttings are still doing OK. I started with six inside and I'm down to four. Still debating on opening the bags or not. I also have some rose cuttings outside under plastic, and so far haven't lost one of those! So, I'm thinking I am going to have a better success rate with that method.
