Congrats on your successes! Doesn't it just give you the greatest feeling? I don't even have mine started yet.

You are so very lucky-getting packs of a hundred seeds of Tumbling tom red and yellow, over here in the UK, they sell the same seeds at an outrageous price at most garden center's and seed merchants around $4.00 a pack of from six to ten seeds only,

What company are HPS ???

I'll paste in a link. I get some of my bulk seeds from them but am still waiting and waiting and waiting for a back order of Celebrity.

Here is a link that might be useful: HPS Seed

Trudi,

While I am quite happy with the tumblers, I too am waiting on back-ordered seeds from HPS. In my case it is 200 Graffiti (purple) cauliflower seeds. This after they had to cancel my order of slicing cucumber seeds because they didn't have enough.
Hopefully the rest of the seeds I got from them germinate as well as the Toms. That will go a long way in making up for the other problems.

I wrote them yesterday and they sent an email this morning. They can't get Celebrity and will be using Empire Hybrid as a substitution. And they're going to expedite my shipping too. I am quite okay with Empire and the fast shipping. Good customer service is very important to me. If I had emailed them sooner I probably would already have the substitute, so that's on me.

Last year's blight horror educated the public to some of the woes associated with home-grown tomatoes. Even if they didn't have a problem in their own gardens some folks will still err on the side of caution and grow more hybrids--their concern needs to be satisfied. So, the increased demand for hybrids and that some companies, especially wholesale suppliers, ran out of some stock is very understandable.

I like that Graffiti Cauliflower--so pretty! I hope they'll have seeds for you. Last year I shared Sicilian Violet and got marvelous feedback. Purple cauliflower is HOT!
