I have leaf buds on my lilac bushes just waiting for the nicer weather to arrive so they can open up.
I can tell by the amount of light we have after 5 that spring is getting nearer.
The cats are starting to shed their winter coats. I've got one cat that loves to be scratched BUT only when his coats are changing. he rest of the time he's too busy for us! LOL

My neighbors feeds chipmunks & squirrels - we see them most of the year... I agree with Carol above - the light after 5pm is great news!

DH saw a dead skunk in the road on his way home from work Friday. That's a sign of spring around here.

Skunks mate in Feb I think it is and have their young in late March, hence the reason for seeing so many dead ones on the side of the roadways.

I also saw chipmunks for the first time. Other than that it still looks like winter . . .

Well, I don't know about chipmunks (we don't have 'em near my house) and the squirrels were out all year, but...

I have SNOWDROPS! Spring is here!

Last week saw the start of the mass migration of starlings, saw a grackle, and now the snowdrops. Oh, and I've smelled skunk for a week and a half in the mornings.

I spotted two chipmunks today on the college campus where I work. I've never been so thrilled to see a chippy!

We actually had warm (above freezing) temperatures here in the Mohawk valley for the past few days as well as rain, so a lot of the snow has melted away. And now I can see....I have snowdrops blooming too! (although we still have a lot of snow on the ground...sigh)

First geese spotted, here in New Hartford (Oneida County), on Saturday morning, March 7th!
