could he have possibly meant WISTERIA? I have never heard of Hysteria...not that I am a plant ghuru.

If it is Wisteria and you'd like to see a dramatic display of it, drive down one of the side streets off of East Avenue in the city of Rochester (I think it's Meigs street...but if you don't see it, it might be another one somewhere between Oxford St. and Arnold Pk). There is Wisteria there that in May crawls from a house and the power lines all the way across the street and along the trees between it. It's fantastic...an absolutely gorgeous site! (And also a warning to not plant it too close to your house!)

I think you may be right - Wisteria, that makes a lot more sense. As he was talking I was thinking "I have never heard of this plant".

I will have to check out the one near East Ave - thanks for the recommendation!
