I bought a special edition of "Fine Gardening" and there's a monarda on the cover called "violet queen" that, if true to color, would be a great match for some daylilies I have. Want to plant them together, but I double checked at some online nurseries, and can't seem to get a consistent idea of the color.

Some places call it "pale blue lavender" and others called it "dark reddish purple." The pictures are no help at all - they go from hot pink on some sites to nearly blue on others.

Anybody know of a good monarda variety - violet queen or other - that is dark purple, leaning on the maroon side? Anyone know what color this variety really is?

I want to order it, but I'm afraid when it blooms it's going to be a completely different color than what I was hoping for.
