I am not from the Kinderhook/Valatie area but I occasionally go there as my husband works nearby. We even thought of moving there but houses are MUCH too expensive!!! I might be coming on June 10 (a Friday) for the day. If I do, I might go to Loomis Creek Nursery (Claverack--I went last Fall, and liked it a lot) and the Berkshire Botanical Garden in Great Barrington (I think). Would love to see your garden.

Hi Anne-Marie! We're actually in Niverville (much cheaper!) but no one tends to know where that is :-) You're more than welcome to stop in when you're in the area...it isn't much to look at, but I try! I have a two-year-old, with another due in November. I ran into the problem that when we moved in a few years ago I went gung-ho on setting up flower beds...now I'm finding it a little overwhelming trying to keep everything cleaned up out there! I try to get my daughter involved as much as I can, but I'm afraid at this age she tends to stand on the good plants to pull out the weeds. I'm certainly learning the art of planting shasta daisies instead of special order plants! Lol, then again, I can usually manage to kill special order plants without her help!

I saw on your page that you've acquired a Community Garden plot...that's such a great organization! I go to their street fair every year. Although I was definitely disappointed to see that they downsized significantly this past year. AND did away with the cheap divisions table! I'm sure they had their reasons though.
