When are te free clematis available? Is it all weekend?

It is all this weekend (May 6th and 7th) in their Walworth location and in Canadaigua the following weekend. I'm not sure of their hours -- we usually get there around 10ish and have not had any problems with the selection of clematis.

Be aware that these are small clematis -- they don't do much the first year but they've blossomed for us the second year.

Thanks for the tip! I really enjoyed visiting Spring Valley and the drive there was great too. Marisa (gardeningwitch) and I (and the kids) went and had a great time. The plants for the most part seemed a bit high priced, but there were good deals to be had too if you looked for them.

We also made a stop at Bristol's on the way home. Of course between the two of us, we had a minivan full of plants to take home!

I'll definitely have to try and make the auction next year. Sounds like you had a great selection!

Hello fellow gardeners!

For those of you who live in Monroe/Wayne County, May 5-6th is the day of Spring Valley Greenhouse grand opening where they give away free clematis. There are coupons in the Williamson Pennysaver but, in years past, they also had coupons available at the store when you came in (along with donuts and coffee).

Also, Edgewood Nursery on 620 Walworth Penfield Road (Rte 441) is having their annual nursery stock auction on May 5th starting at 10. Preview is at 9am and I think there's more information at www.reynoldsauction.com.
