First bloom On Iris Fulva

My first species Louisiana Iris ... Iris fulva (Copper Iris) has just bloomed and thought I would share a picture with y'all. I tried to get a picture as the petals were unfurling so it isn't completely open. The ends are still a little curled.

You are welcome adina, It took me a couple of years to get them and this was the first bloom. I have a second that should open up later today. I love that coppery red color too

Looks great Penny. The one I got last year I don't think is going to bloom. It is alive and healthy, so I bet I'll get some nice blooms next year.

Remy, They do take a while to get established and fill out. This one particular plant has 4 flowers now and I am having to water it a lot.

Did you want it because it was a "louisiana" iris?

Well GG I wanted it for three reasons. The main reason being that it is pollinated cheifly by hummers and secondly b/c it is a La. Iris and the third reason is the color.
