Growing Tomatoes

Rotted tomato!

So, um...yea. This tomato was going along fine and then all of a sudden (in about a day or two) it just got this huge open black spot on it. The rest of the tomatoes seem fine. This is a cherry tomato plant, otherwise very healthy. Something to worry about?

Looks like BER - Blossom End Rot. There is a FAQ here - not great but covers the basics - as well as many discussions on it that a search will pull up for you. Just search 'BER' in the search bar at the bottom of the page.

Contributing factors are excess N fertilizer, excess water, weather, etc. Tends to be more of a problem in small containers where stabilizing the soil moisture levels is a problem.

Looks like blossom end rot to me, Ive heard its a calcium deficiency. Ive also read it means you've watered the nutrients out of your soil and you need to fertilize. There are way more experience gardeners (Dave) who can really help you. My plants have small tomatoes on them and yours look really good.
