Help with ID this plant

We visited Rockport Maine in September and noticed several of these daisy-looking plants there. The leaf was very similar to a Shasta daisy, but the clumps were huge - 8' across, 5' tall. It appeared to be a single plant with thick woody central stems.
At any rate they are beautiful. I was able to bring home a cutting and I hope it can survive Texas' heat. Can you ID this for me? Thank you!
