lights when germinating seeds

This is my first time raising tomatoes from seeds and my seeds are just germinating. I planted the seeds over a two day period and the lights have been on for about 18 hours since I saw the first seedling. Now about 15 of the 46 cups of seeds(2 to 3 each) have at least one seedling up. Should I leave the lights on until all of the seedlings are up even if this takes several days? Or do the tomatoes need a break from the light? I'm worried new seedlings that come up while the light is off will stretch out or die if I turn the lights off for 6 hours now.

I have raised tomatoes from greenhouse transplants for about 5 or 6 previous years but after reading this site over the last year I decided to try some "real" tomatoes from seed. I bought KBX, Aunt Gerties Gold, Sun Sugar F1, Aker's WV, Brandywine(Sudduth's), Mortgage Lifter(Estler's), Neves Azorean Red, Super Sioux, and Stupice from Tatiana's for $2 each with free shipping since the total was over $15. She was also kind enough to give me a free packet of Noire de Crimee which I was very glad to see since I had been undecided on getting a black and then regretted..

I am raising the seeds in a apartment on a seed starting bench I just finished before the first seed germinated. I will transplant the tomatoes to my parents garden if I can get them that far along. This site has been an incredible help for my first attempt. Thank you all for sharing your tomato raising knowledge.
