I have tried to clean violets out of my perennial beds. These are the native type -- purple.

I put the roots, and crowns and top soil I skimmed off with a lot of voilet seed pods in a large contactor bag. There may be some sweet autum clematis seed and something that's like a viney milkweed that I've been fighting, so plan on some weeding the first year. I think there would be enough to sew a reasonably large patch if you're trying to naturalize an area.

No gaurantees, but think they would start for you if you spread them around and tamped them in. Don't ask me about voilet habitat. Check your books or online sources. I would think it's semi-shade.
