I would really like to know why genetically modified foodstuffs are dangerous . Eventho I have been exposed to many hours of genetics, I am not familiar with the term"GMO". This concept sounds much like the hysteria generated by the use of Fluorides in drinking water. As a plant physiologist, I would appreciate only documented, concrete proof of toxicity.

...and the alfalfa is like the "Roundup-ready corn", they have somehow modified the plant so that you can spray Roundup over the top and not damage the plant.

In general, Roundup is a non-selective contact killer that is absorbed through the [non-woody] plant and goes to root system where the plant is killed.

Roundup has been around for ages and is one of the best and most safe herbicides on the market, IHMO. We use it a lot around our greenhouses and the farm.

Hey Tom; just wanted to make a small correction to your reply to Hartzlink.You are so correct regarding Roundup. I believe tho that you'll find via the literature that Roundup has no direct effect on roots. It effectively blocks several of the enzymes involved in photosynthesis in leaves and thus causes the plant to starve to death. To my knowledge it has no effect on plant roots.

Thanks--I was relying on my memory from when Roundup came out and we first used it, which was probably back in the early 70's.
