There are a dozen or so beans with Romano in the name. I have grown the regular Romano a pole bean with about the same growing habits as a Kentucky Wonder, but with broad flat pods. I grew it in the New River valley (Pulaski County) where it was very productive. The snap beans are delicious. There are of course bush versions and even one with purple pods. There are many othe Italian beans under other names.

The beans are the Romano (Habichuelas Fagioli) pole beans.I just don't remember the Kentucky wonders taking this long to produce.
