Hi Flatlander,Oh My Gosh!Lucky you.You can now start up another bin. Thank you for the offer,i live in Oregon,Il.To far to go right now,but again, thank you.So what is your story?How long have you been vermicomposting?Have you seperated the castings?How much 'worm tea' have you gotton so far?A lot of questions i know, but i am Green,ha ha,when it comes to this and it is all so new,and very exciting.My bin is up and ready,oh yea,what kind of bin do you use?I hope this is not to many questions.Thank you,just1more

I've been worm "ranching" for probably 15 years or so. I started thinking i was going to raise my own fishbait, but i couldn't bear to put my boys on the hook! Now i keep about 4 bins myself and give the others away as long as they promise not to feed them to the fish. Yes, i seperate the castings every winter in the basement...and am in that process as we speak. I dump the contents of the bin on a tarp in the basement and shine a flood light on it that drives the boys to the bottom. then i put the contents onto a wire mesh contraption that i built and put the castings and compost into a seperate bucket. that's all there is to it. i tend to mix it with other compost and put it in my vegetable beds...i don't make tea out of this..just my other compost. Did i answer everything?

Yes,i belive you did answer every thing,i have no ides what casting are going to look like, can you tell it is not dirt?I have my bin in the kitchen,or did i already mention that?Any way, it is fun so far.Thanks for all the help.just1more
