I raise them, but I've never tried them for fishing. The ones I have never really get to any fishing size because of the populations of the bins. I know people have done what you propose, but might I suggest you would be happier with some euro's. They are,in my opinion, a superior fishing worm. They are good sized and stay alive on the hook for as long as you could ask. They reproduce well and, given space and food, fatten quickly for a trip to your local lake or stream. I like them for pan fish and when fishing for catfish, I use cut bait or liver and then tip the hook with a euro. I don't always catch a lot of fish, but I seldom get skunked.
