I have two indoor bins. I started my first bin in October 2006 and added a second last summer. I live in an apartment.

Until recently, I've never had a problem with roaches but they have been appearing in the last 6-8 wks around the counter, not in the immediate vicinity of the bin which is under the sink, along with some other bug I'm not familiar with.

I try to be quite careful about covering the top of the bin with soil so as not to attract bugs or have problems with smell. More recently I've been covering it with newspaper too based on suggestions of people here. So I don't think the roaches have appeared because of the bin, but I am concerned that since one roach crawled out of the bin the last time I checked it, that I might have an infestation soon if the roaches start pro-creating in the bin.

I've tried to search the site but didn't get much info. Does anyone have any experience with this?
