I've been getting all excited about worms for a few weeks now. I've been reading posts here going back for years. I stopped by the place where I normally buy fishing worms and they don't have redworms this time of year, only nightcrawlers... darn! I was about to start an indoor bin just to get a jump-start on spring.

I guess I could order some. Would they survive shipping this time of year? Any suggestions on a good worm supplier?

Yes, they would do well with shipping right now, i just got mine a couple of months ago.

Can you find European Night Crawlers in your bait stores? They are a larger composting cousin of the red wiggler.

I just ordered 3# of Euros from Vermitechnology out of Florida. They arrived via US mail in Indiana a little cold but they're doing fine now. When they got here we had about 6 inches of snow and the temps were in the teens!
Vermitechnology was really good to work with. They emailed me to let me know when the babies were shipped so I could be looking for them.
