Worm Mating Pattern

I know I read on here once, that someone said that their (his) worms seemed to mate according to the seasons. I'm wondering if that is somewhat true. My worms, 2 bins, have been apparently status quo for the past few winter months. I sometimes would see some worms on the sides looking for love, but now that Spring is among us here in Texas, my worms are crawling all over the walls and entertwined more than I have ever seen them.

Also, though the winter, I did some fluffing of the bedding here and there, but didn't see many cocoons. Two days ago I did some fluffing and noticed lots of cocoons.

Think there's any truth to this about the seasons? My worms are kept inside year round at a temperature between 65 and 78 degrees.
