I have literally inherited my grandmothers 2 stackable worm bins (3 tray version).

They make my home made ones look like poor cousins. Its probably the best thing she could have left me, and I now know the secret to her awesome gardening prowess. (as well as bantam chickens running free).

However, the worms in her bins look very different to mine.

Mine are red. Maybe even Maroon. But no real stipes.

Hers are red/brown, and dare I say it, YELLOW!

Some of them are mostly yellow with brown and red stripes, others are red and brown with yellow stripes. There are some that look like mine, but most are this stiped yellow variety.

Now I am thinking I have Red Wrigglers, and she has Tiger worms, maybe no big deal. Your thoughts on which species i have please?

But importantly, can i mix the two kinds? or will one die off.

Let me know, cause I dont want mine or hers to perish, but also dont need 4 bins, so want to combine the two population. One fall back would be to put her species into one system, and mine in the other.

Then I could race 'em.

But Id rather just mix the lot if I can. CAN I MIX THEM?
