Type of worms? Some worms seem to wander more than others. Since the worms were in new bedding, the storm could have easily caused them to roam a little. Have the rest of the worms settled in?

Well, the worms are red wigglers. I am not sure if they are settled or not. Right now they seem to be ok, what I am afraid is that they wander at nights and they will be leaving the box in the next few nights... I hope not.

So, I guess the only way is to wait and see how they are doing tomorrow... (Need to be more patient)

They may not like their new home simply because it isn't their old home. In time they will get used to it. Leave a light on for a few nights. They won't crawl into the light.

Chances are these worms were harvested from manure. They are sent in the mail and jostled around for a few days, then dumped into a strange bin with newspaper and cardboard? and coir. So totally out of their normal bedding.

They will settle down after a few days. You might want to take some food out, in case it's turning the bedding a little sour. 1-2 lbs sounds like a lot of food, in the beginning, till the worms get settled in and chowing down.

Now that I think of it, I would take some food out and add more damp shredded paper to the bin.

When you're starting out it can also help to keep bedding and food separate and let the worms do the mixing.(Feed by layering food on top of bedding and just covering with a damp cloth or some more bedding.) That way there's less chance of you getting a big anaerobic mess. If you want to mix bedding with food, make sure there's a large area with clean bedding for worms to move into.
