what did you think of thessaloniki? i was almost going to grow it this year.

ASIMINA 80 days, indet., regular leaf, excellent yield of very good tasting sweet 4" globes, from SSE, Greece. Seeds available at SSE and Skyfire.

GEORGE'S GREEK BEEFSTEAK. 85 days, indet., regular leaf, very large red beefsteaks up to 1.5 lbs., from B.C KO T from George Exarchoulis, Vancouver, BC, seeds from Greece. (I don't know if seeds are available for this. check with Tatiana)

GREEK ASEMINA indet., regular leaf, medium to large red fruit, productive. Needs warmer weather to set fruit, does better in greenhouse in PNW.

HERAKLION STRIPED LADY Red fruit with small pink stripes, regular leaf, indet., Steve Schwartz (Luxembourg) collected it in Greece. (no seed source given)

MT. ATHOS 70 days, indet., regular leaf, red plum heart shaped 12-16 oz fruit, Greece. (no seed source given)

I have a tomato the has come to be know as Santorini, as that's where my son picked up the seeds a few years ago. He brought me a small, baby food type containter full of seeds.

It's a fairly flat, medium-sized red with quite a few seeds and gel.

Can't remember how it tastes as I haven't grown it for a few years. If you want seeds for a SASE, let me know.

Thessaloniki Ox Heart is a Greek tomato. It's not an oxheart version of Thessaloniki (but it is an oxheart—but in the tomato name it's spelled Ox Heart). I've grown both Thessaloniki (twice) and Thessaloniki Ox Heart (once). Thessaloniki was awesome the first year when I watered it a lot (with an oscillating sprinkler). It got huge (softball-sized), uniform, firm fruits, and was very prolific and easy to harvest. The next year when I didn't water it much it had small, not-so-uniform, better-tasting, softer, unproductive fruits. I grew Thessaloniki Ox Heart with the same dry treatment, and it got fairly large, dry-ish fruits with excellent taste, but not at all like Thessaloniki either year I grew Thessaloniki.
