German Queen?

I have one, but I have found limited sources on it. I've read it's a indeterminate, but I'll be durned if it does not look like a determinate. Mine is not a a single stem with side stems, it looks like a V with side stems growing. It looks almost exactly like my Roma but since I'm so anal about labeling, I know it's not anything but my German Queen. It's a pretty plant, getting big although it has shown no interest in what I want it to do. Any help would be appreciated :)

Yes, it is a pretty plant, PL foliage and indet, and the fruits are smooth and mostly blemish free as well. Opinions are divided as to taste, but that's something only you can determine with your soil and weather and amendments and tastebuds.

You asked for help, but I'm not sure what kind of help you're looking for? ( smile)

Why is my indet looking more like a det? I'm pretty sure it's my German Queen, and until recently it was my tallest. Now it wants to grow out...not up. I'll probably have to post pictures to prove my point LOL.

I dont know the difference between Determinate and non-, however, I grow a german queen every year and it is markededly different than my romas. The flowers are different AND it is a potato leaf.
As far as taste goes, MINE are about the best tomatoes i ever tasted; low acid and mild yet tasty, the perfect sandwich tomato. That just may be my tastes though.
I planted mine the week after easter and it is about 3.5 feet tall and about 2 feet wide, it is out of control, and i have 25 blooms on it.
    Love my GQ

    good luck with it.

Well atleast your seeing some action LOL. Mine is the only one that hasn't even flowered yet. I've got flowers and fruit out of everybody else but my GQ. Just wait and see, patience is a good virtue :) My GQ is what you and Carolyn described, it's a PL, but the way it's shaped, it's odd...maybe I just need to open my mind that plants can take one shape or the other :) Thank you.

If you click on the FAQ link at the top of this first page you'll find a nice article, with pictures, on leaf forms.

    Is your plant PL?

Leaf form has nothing to do with the variety plant habit, as to indet, det, etc.

    This is the plant.

While I am not asking help, it's dying, etc. because it's a healthy plant. My question is why does it branch off like this? My first indet. that looks like this.

My German Queen is about 6 feet tall and has about 9 fruits. It flowers nicely but the buds turn yellow and fall off. I am wondering if it has something to do with the temp. I am in northern CA and the temp is sometimes in the 80's-low 90's and then it will drop back down to the low 70's. The first time the plant started to fruit was when the temp got up pretty high.

I see you all grew the German Queen, This is my
sister's favorite tomato and due to some sad circumstances she had to
abandon her garden this year to move in with me. She lost all her plants
in the move. You wouldn't happen to have some seeds to share that I
could surprise her with do you? I'd be willing to send SASE or paypal.
    Please let me know! Thanks!
