I found that post and read through it all after posting mine. Unlike the previous poster, I have had no problem with coffee grinds however.

The moisture in my bin seems very ideal from everything I've read. Moist, but not too wet, and I have tons of baby worms showing up all throughout my bin, which is a notable difference from the first couple weeks, so obviously things are going in the right direction. However, I am curious about the mite presence in relation to the cardboard and thought I'd mention it on here.

I took the lid of my WF outside and wiped off all the mites. There were white and what looked like red, as compared to brown, mites on the underside of the WF lid, and it did seem a little more moist here for some reason as opposed to inside the bin bedding itself. There are little white mites all throughout my bin, but they don't seem to be grouping together at all, just interspersed throughout and don't seem to be doing anything substantial. The red ones were grouping together more, it seemed on the lid underside, but I also saw very few of them in the bin itself. There were a couple times where they'd eat a dead worm, but nothing prevalent and they weren't getting into the food.
