I put the harvested vermicompost in shallow trays and put them in the sun for a few days to let any seeds germinate and when they do I pluck them and feed the seedlings to a current worm bin.

I get very few seeds germinating in my finished compost, mostly tomato and pumpkin seeds but I often just transplant them somewhere more suitable or just pull them up.

I just mash them into the bedding every few days.

But I did make a bad mistake once: Thought the old birdseed I had was "dead" and would not sprout, so I mixed it in. Boy was I wrong! It sprouted and grew like crazy and I had a tough job keeping it from taking over the bin.
