They worms need to eat all of the food you put in the bed within a few days to prevent it from souring, and molding, mildewing, etc. by moving the food they finish it up before going looking for more. the more they crawl the more the overall compost is finished. If all the worms are located in one section they are easier to remove when you are ready and the more eggs will be produced from their all being together.

Ooops! I haven't been rotating. I had a good look at it this morning and there doesn't seem to be any mold or mildew, but that may be because the juice pulp is actually quite dry.

Do you think I should stop adding anything for a few weeks?

you should feed at a rate that they can keep up with - takes about a pound of active worms to eat a half pound of input in a day, but the material has to start to decompose for it to be attractive to the worms - they actually eat the microbial life [including the molds] that're doing the decomposing more than the organic material - if it's too dry, bacterial activity will be minimal and slow to start, so maybe you need to dampen things down a bit - remember worms don't have teeth not to mention pretty small mouths, they "slurp" soup, don't gnaw bones!

a good reason to "pocket feed" is to give the material some undisturbed time to start decomposing, and so you can keep an eye on how much they're eating - if you see one spot is pretty well decomposed, mix it into the bedding a bit to aerate the area and put another pocket beside it, doesn't have to be just "corners", they're not fast movers and don't need the exercise
