Diatomaceous Earth and the worm bin

I was wondering if anyone had good info (first hand) or via links to the use of Diatomaceous Earth in the worm bin. I have some slugs (easy to pick out) and some other small white bugs (very tiny) that I'd like to rid from my bin. I've read DE can be used with no ill effects on worms... but I wanted to ask the GW worm community.

DE works on bugs but only when it is dry.

Bugs have a wax coating the DE is very sharp and scratches through the coating. The bugs dehydrate to death. Make sure you don't purchase the DE for aquariums it has had the sharp edges processed off.

DE wont kill slugs the best you can hope for is it will irritate them enough that they will avoid it.
