That is so beautiful. I really wish I could grow it where I live. It is Cydista aequinoctialis syn. Mansoa alliacea, Pseudocalymma alliacea, Bignonia alliacea or Bignonia aequinoctialis. The first two are the most commonly used.

deejaus: in reference to your identifcation of garlic vine. Can you give me some info on it? I live in delaware zone 7 and woukd love to grow it on a trellis I just bought. Thanks for any info.

Patckelly,
I'm not sure that it would be suitable for zone 7. It is recommended for zone 10B-11.
It grows 10-30ft high, prefers full sun but will tolerate partial sun. Soil dry to moist. Flowers in spring and autumm.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I didn't notice your query.
Cheers,
Dee.

Hi Deejaus! That is lovely! I'm zone 9b/10a. Would you happen to have any seeds for it? I'd love love love to grow this! I never see it available.

Amanda 'romando'

Sorry Amanda, I don't grow it. I am not in a suitable zone. It wasn't me who posted the picture, but yes, it is gorgeous. I'm not sure whether you would have any luck growing it either, that's probably why you don't see it where you live.
Dee.

It's popular in Thailand and I have even seen it in some of the northern towns where temperatures occasionally fall below freezing, which would make them Zone 9b I guess, but then you also see the occasional coconut palm in these areas! It's quite common in Bangkok gardens.

Momiji's photo is spectacular!
