CLimbing hydrangea

I purchased three and one is doing beautifully climbing up a stone chimney. I put the other two on a chain link fence under the dense shade of a Norway Maple -- they aren't doing well. So now I am wondering where I can relocate them.

I'd love to have one climb the Norway Mpale but doubt that it will do well here -- either the shade is too dense or the Norway is sucking all the water and nutrients out of the ground (I have great difficulty getting anything to grow under this tree).

I have a vinyl sided shed in the yard. Can I have it grow on this or will it ruin the siding? What about having it grow up a dogwood tree -- is the dogwood too small?

I read that they can be trained to grow as a ground cover but have no clue how to do this.

This is one of my very favorite plants in my garden so I don't want to give them away. I appreciate any advice.

Thanks, Cheryl

PS Also, what is a good vine to gobble up a chain link fence -- preferrably an evergreen perennial. I like the bushiness of the morning glory and how fast it grows but it looks terrible at the end of the season and is a mess to pull down. I have a chocalte vine on the fence bu the coverage is thin and slow even after 2 years. I thought maybe of Trumpet Vine because they seem to be doing very well on my potagers, but would like to try a different plant so as to add variety.
