My one pound of red wrigglers arrived one month ago, tomorrow. Let me tell you about the fun...

They settled into the bin just fine. (I had gotten everything thing set up and afew worms from a friend a week earlier.) For a pound of worms I was quite dissapointed with the amount the they were eating but the bin was new.

Now...the bin is alive with activity! Everytime I look in the bin I see worms exchanging DNA and there are 6 - 10 eggs on the surface of the bedding for every 4" X 4" sqaure. Can't wait for them to hatch, tee hee! My goal for them to eat ALL of our scraps by fall just might become a reality.

Anyway, I get so giddy with these little worms and what they can do. I would like to hear how other bins are doing! What's going on inside your bin? How many worms you guess you have now? How much waste they are going through (number of people they consume for?) What do you like the most about your bin? What is your favortite bin (if you have used more than one kind?)
