Vermicomposting

did i do it okay?

Having no idea on the subject, i got a large Ensure can, drilled holes at the bottom, put in a thin layer o soil, scooped some worms from the compost pile, and then filled the rest of the can with dried leaves, moisted the whole thing and put it in a warm cupboard, beacause winter is starting here.

Any suggestions? I know i probably did something wrong, could you help??

sounds like an OK start, but make sure it's very moist, not just damp, and feed them kitchen scraps as well, leaves alone won't do it

You might want to check the type of worms that you have. My understanding is the ones from the backyard that live in dirt don't tend to like garbage. If winter's starting for you though you might very well have a different worm in your compost than we do here in New Jersey.

Hey thaks for the advice, i checked on the can today, after a few weeks, and nothing seems to have changed, but the worms are still alive, so i'll wait n see.
