Tomatoes stagnating

I just planted them a few weeks ago. They were only maybe a foot tall, and now they're barely an inch taller, if at all. I can't really tell so this past Sunday I marked the stake at the plant's height, and now it's Thursday and they're not any taller.

This could be totally normal, for all I know, because I'm so new at this (I grew one plant last year and it was a disaster).

As far as other symptoms go, the bottom leaves seem quite a bit more pale than the new leaves. I wouldn't call them yellow, but definitely towards the yellow end of the green spectrum. They were like this when I bought them, and since planting them they haven't gotten any better or any worse in this regard.

Some info about the plants:

1. One is a Big Beef, the other is a Lemon Boy.

2. Each are in their own 10gal bucket.

3. I used Miracle Grow Potting Mix.

4. I haven't applied any fertilizer yet.

WATERING: I water them, on average, every few days. I check the soil with my finger to see how deep down it is dry, and I water as soon as its dry down to about 2 knuckles. When I water, I water deep, adding in excess of a gallon of water to each container.

SUNLIGHT: They get less sunlight than I would like. I have an east-facing porch that gets maybe slightly more than five hours per day. Six at the height of the season.
