I hate to tell you no, Minnesota.....but no. If your minnow bucket bubbler is anything like mine was back in the day, it ain't enough. You need to roil that water pretty good.

Any chance you have a minimum rate or speed of airflow that you suggest?

What sized container are you brewing in? Basically, you need to get the entire surface of the water bubbling....like water just beginning to boil in a pot on the stove.

I do it all the old-fashioned way. I do believe the more oxygen the better....up to a point. You don't want to rip all that fragile bacteria to shreds.

A 5 gallon bucket will work well with 2 two hose aquarium bubblers (4 hoses without stones). Never use stones....they're a PITA.

I use a 4-port 15 LPM pump in a 5 gallon bucket with large stones about 4"x1.5". What is it about the stones you do not like Chuckiebtoo? I always hose them off when finished and then let them bubble in bleach solution

Without the hosing off, and bubbling in bleach solution, the stones, IMHO, do not disburse O2 any better than stoneless hoses.

But, all this being art rather than science, lots of methods will work.....mainly because the worms are so cooperative.

Sometimes these processes we use are just way too studied, and critiqued, and dissected, and evaluated. The worms allow us to make enormous amounts of mistakes and over-reaching.

Lots of techniques work equally well.

I just bought a new aerator. a 2 port pump that pushes 2.8 liters per minute. About double what my old minnow bucket aerator did. I hope that is sufficient.

I think I spent about $50 with 24' of tubing and 4 large stones... more power... Sometimes I brew 15 gallon batches.
