I purchased some hyacinth bean starts from the Magic Garden. Shipping is kind of expensive, but might be worth it if you order some other stuff, as well. I also saw some at my locally owned garden center (after I'd already ordered from Magic Garden).

I think they're supposed to be very easy to start from seed, so that's probably why you don't see the plants for sale everywhere. I have kind of a black thumb with seedlings, though, which is why I went ahead and ordered some starts. On the other hand, I did try my hand at scarlet runner beans this year, and those are coming up like mad, despite my lack of seed ability. So maybe the bean vines in general are easy to start.

PS: I was very pleased with all of my Magic Garden plants.

I plant them directly into the ground from seed. Within a week or so they are already up and they grow fast. Very easy to grow from seed. If the start is around 4 or 5 inches, it is probably only a few weeks old. Save your seeds for next year, they do grow true.
