You will be waiting quite a while for the tuber to develop, especially if you aren't in a frost free zone. It can be propagated from cuttings but they aren't the easiest to root. I didn't realize the tuber was edible but had heard that possibly the flowers were. I grow it because it's beautiful and has a great fragrance. Never considered eating it.
