Wow thanks..can u tell me the name of fabric used

It is just black cotton duck and white cotton duck from JoAnn fabric. About $6 a yard. No name because not designer fabric.

Great room, can you tell me where table is from?

I love the updated feel of this room. What talent! Where is this rug from? Do you think this rug would work with Queen Anne table and chairs with alternating black and white duck seats or, alternatively, metallic silver linin seats? Walls are light grey and floors are clear oak. I'm trying to incorporate Queen Anne table and chairs into a transitional decor. Would really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you! The table is from ebay. Starstu55- I think I would probably change the table if you want this look. It's really hard to make queen anne look modern or even transitional. Maybe if you painted it black? The rug was expensive, from Jonathan Adler, but you could maybe spend the money better on a new table and a less costly back and white rug? That's my first thought. Painting the table would be my second (I've come so close to painting this one in the photo so many times). I hope this helps!

PS - I love both of your chair ideas, especially the alternating black and white. These are slipcovers made from two inexpensive cotton duck fabrics - that's a third way to get the look

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your suggestions but I am at a loss as to what styles in a new table would blend with Queen Anne chairs to update the look. I have a Parson's table that I could paint black but I'm not sure whether that could work with Queen Anne chairs. Any suggestions on what styles might work for a new table?

so sorry, I thought it was a table you were working around. The queen anne chairs are not ideal for the look, either (sorry). I think the parsons table would be great in general, and fits with the look better than my table in the photo. Anything with straight lines - and the same for the chairs. If they are good chairs, maybe they can be sold and replaced with parsons chairs? Send me a photo if you want and I'll tell you what I can come up with! Sorry about the confusion. I was originally hoping that I could use the Q.A. table and Q.A. chairs and update the look in some way. Your idea of black and white slipcovers on the Q.A. chairs might work if I keep the Q.A. table. Perhaps I could bring in a bold black and white rug similar to yours and bring in classic contemporary art (drawings) and/or sculpture in black iron to update the overall look of the room. As I reflect on this, I'm beginning to picture a minimalist type room if I end up using the Q.A. table and slipcovered chairs. I'll send photos after the move-in occurs.

Regarding the table in your photo, would a custom cut mirror for the top of your table work instead of painting it black? I suppose you would cover the table with a cloth when the table is in use as the mirrored surface could be distracting while dining. I need to go back to your photo to look at your table again. Perhaps it doesn't lend itself to this.

I love your ideas - i think your room is going to be great! The QA chairs are more of a distraction than the table because you see the legs more, so slipcovers are good. I LOVE the idea of a mirrored top for mine! I'm going to consider that, or a custom table cloth that's really nice with both black and white in it :)
