The cabinet appears a bit flimsy. One review said it bowed out when half full of files. With the weight of a wormbin, I am sure the drawer glides would fail.
If you have space outside in the shade, you could gut it out and set it on the ground. Screw the drawer faces shut and make the top removable. Instant wormbin.

Thanks for the reply. For the record, its not same cabinet in the picture as my model is at least 8 years or more old.

But I see the point of weight. On the other hand, for my model, outer container shell which is separate for each drawer completely encloses the drawer, so not much of glide problem

Worms crawl everywhere including along the damp drawer slides. This may not bode well for them upon opening and closing the drawer. They may however help to lubricate the sliding areas.

Vermicompost is heavy. To get an idea of how the system will work with vermicompost fill the drawer with rocks or better yet water and see how well it slides.
