I'm sure not in yer area!! but I'll suggest burying the bin half into the ground to maintain an even cooler temp - if it has to be in the garage, you could insulate it and do as much as possible to cool it at night, like leave the top off, and make sure there's lots of vent holes in the top to prevent heat build up in it - I know there's folks there that do keep worms successfully

im in texas and its gets hot here. the outside air temp doesnt matter much its the bin temp you need to check. in the summer my bin temp runs from 75 to 85 and all is well. i have enc and reds, but when the bin temp gets in the high 70s the euros breeding seem to slack of some. just keep plenty of moisture because the enc likes it wetter than the reds.

I am in SE Florida. I started with an unburied rubbermaid in the patio bathroom but ended up moving them inside last summer. They now live in the guest room closet and no one even knows they are there. :)

First of all, try constructing the bin out of wood, this is a good natural insulator, not a conductor. Plastic holds the temperature outside and keeps moisture inside which makes for a difficult controlled environment. If you are going to keep the box outside, make sure it is not in the direct sunlight. I suggest holes on all sides and bottom with nylon window screen stapled to the inside and a solid top. This will provide ample air flow throughout while retaining some moisture within.
