Silver Lace Vine Turning Yellow

I purchased a silver lace vine at the beginning of this year to grow over my pergola. I bought the plant potted and at the time it was only about 4 to 6 inches tall and in 3 months it has already over taken about a quarter of my pergola. But now I noticed the leaves are starting to turn yellow and falling off. I planted it in in good soil with full sun at least 6 to 8 hours a day and I really haven't watered it because it's been raining at least once a week. Has anybody had this problem and any suggestions to fix it?

It is going dormant, most likely do to climatic conditions. When it cools off a bit, it will start growing again.

So are you saying when it gets hot the vine goes dormant?

If a plant gets stressed, in it's efforts to survive, it will 'rest' ie start a dormant period. Water it and give it some shade!

OK, I've been searching thru the forums to find out if anyone else has had trouble getting a Silver Lace Vine to bloom, but haven't found anything as of yet. (There are 17 pages containing "Silver Lace Vine" so I'll just try to post here.)

I purchased a couple plants through the mail, one died, one is alive and looks great, but WHY HASN'T IT BLOOMED?! This is it's second growing season here and it's huge--but absolutely no flowers again this year. Other vines around town are doing fine and blooming well. Is it possible that I could've gotten a steril one from the grower? Any advice/suggestions welcome. (I think it might have gotten it from Brecks--haven't had much luck with them.)
